The Deeply Recessed Windows of Brutalist Architecture

Deeply recessed windows are often found in brutalist architecture.

Armstrong Building (now IKEA), New Haven, 1968. M Breuer.

Boston City Hall, Gerhard Kallmann and Michael McKinnell,1963-68, Boston MA.

Fall River Government Center, Fall River MA, 1976.

Sunkist Headquarters, 1970. Los Angeles CA

Simon Fraser University, Vancouver BC, 1965

Crafton Hills College, Yucaipa CA, 1976

Saint Louis Community College has the deeply recessed windows. However, there is a smooth covering over over the concrete building material.

The hardscaping that forms a platform around many of the buildings is uncoated concrete.
